GELATO

 

Gelato is probably one of the best treats to come out of Italy. Gelato is the Italian word for ice cream, but make no mistakes- it is nothing like ice cream you’ve ever had. Why isgelato different from ice cream? Well, it has more milk than heavy cream and less butter fat and egg yolks than ice cream. On our food tours, we take guests to taste gelato in Florence. When we explain this to them, their response is always “so, that means gelato is healthier!
